Government Medical College, Anantnag, J&K.

Department of Physiology, Government Medical College Anantnag, was established in December 2018 and the first batch of medical students was admitted in 2019 (Batch of 100 Students). Now the department additionally caters to 110 nursing and paramedical students per year.

Physiology is a basic science department that constitutes the core of medical knowledge and imparts training to undergraduate medical, nursing and paramedical students.Here at the Department of Physiology we aim at providing basic medical knowledge to our budding doctors. To know what is abnormal one must first know what is normal. Our motto is to help our students understand the integration between Physiology, Pathology , Medicine and other allied branches, hence become competent doctors in the future.

We have a fully equipped research laboratory with all the latest technology like LAB CHART 8 PRO software (2 channel Physiographs, 4 channel Polygraphs) for EEG, HRV, EMG, ECG, PFT and other equipments like Hand Grip Dynamometer, Ergographs, Stethographs, Spirometers, Haldanes Gas Analyser, Van slykes Apparatus, BMR apparatus, Opthalmoscope.

The department has 3 fully equipped student laboratories, viz haematology, Clinical and Human laboratories, a demonstration room which is well equipped with audio-visual aids, a departmental library for the benefit of our students.
